This first class hotel in Asni is exclusive, while being friendly. Sir Richard Branson’s Kasbah Tamadot is an extensive complex with a myriad of staircases, courtyards, rooms and gardens. Located 45 minutes from Marrakech in the Atlas Mountains, this is the ideal retreat to base yourself for exploring the city and local area. On the ground level are two internal courtyards, an indoor pool, the Asounfou Spa and the traditional Hammam. Through the gardens is the outdoor pool, if you meander along pretty garden paths you will also find the tennis courts. A main staircase leads up to a traditional Moroccan painted courtyard that surrounds a deep blue reflecting pool on the first floor. Opening from here are a series of bedrooms, a Guest Salon & Library and the Kanoun restaurant. The roof top, complete with breathtaking views, houses three deluxe suites and a rooftop seating area where drinks can be served. At The Kasbah Tamadot there are three superior rooms, seven deluxe rooms, four superior suites, three deluxe suites and one deluxe pool suite (the main different between the rooms is the size and location in the hotel). The main building has fifteen rooms and suites, a few minutes walk at the end of the garden is The Master Suite which comprises of three rooms including the Deluxe Suite with pool. Each room at Kasbah Tamadot is individually named and decorated incorporating many antiques and artefacts; collected by the previous owner from all over Africa, India and The Far East. As a result it is quite eclectic. All the rooms have king size beds and a collection of easy chairs, Moroccan poufs and/or sofa and, of course, minibar, bath robes, cd-players and hairdryers. Televisions with DVD players are available on request. The grounds of The Kasbah Tamadot have been planted with a huge variety of evergreen and flowering plants. Within the stepped landscape is the pool complex; an upper terrace is surrounded by Greek columns and features a bar which serves informal lunch (seasonally), while a grand staircase leads down to the infinity pool, reflecting the sky and affording spectacular views to the valley below and mountains above. Surrounding the pool edge are loungers along with chairs and tables for relaxation throughout the day. A restaurant with terrace dining and fireside bar, supervised by Executive chef, Jean Mundell, serves stunning Moroccan, African and international dishes that will be accompanied by fine wines. Activities available from the hotel include sightseeing tours of Marrakech, Hot Air Ballooning, Golf, Mule or horse trekking, plus various guided treks suitable for all levels.
